Sedum is the term for a genus of succulent plant.
A succulent plant is one of tenacious nature,
that is able to survive in any environment;
the sedum is one that embodies our ideal of continuing on,
never easing up or being disheartened—of
"Rome was not built in a day", and thus became our namesake.
Additionally, we do not pronounce it as "sedum", but rather "Sea-dum", for the sea.
